I have one on my shelf in my office at home. Right next to my bible.
Despite my rhetoric, I don't condone burning of books, whatever their content.
Rest easy - I never thought for a moment you did.
My copy is upstairs with most of the rest of my books. I'll never tell my Muslim mate who gave it to me - he gave me very detailed instructions on how the words of the Prophet are to be kept apart from lesser works, etc. Nice fella, and no more loopy that most other religionists.

Especially Mad Magazines. Should share a place of honor with the bible too. Alfred E. Neuman certainly was my saviour during boring school classes.

Besides the Jews, don't forget the canaanites who also worshipped Yahweh, along with his consort Asherath(I hope I got names right).
Speaking of canaanites, where is it that the story places Jesus's first miracles? And how many miracles in one go?

What's so great about it?
Why I called Quran "Great Quran" instead of holy or noble quran ?
I'm native speaker in old Arabic, I can read most Arabic books, old poems and Great Quran. Great Quran is highest Arabic text, I have no idea about another Arabic text that can be more high than Great Quran.
In chapter 15 of Great Quran, verse 87 "We have given you seven particular verses (or chapters) and Great Quran"
From this verse I chose to name Quran as it described itself "Great Quran", those call Great Quran with "Holy Quran" or "Noble Quran", I have no idea from any source they get their decribtion with "holy or noble", but It's nice names.
You can use this site for Quran translating, it's nice because it use more than one source to translate it but I prefer to make my improves, I hoped too if I'm native speaker in English to translate Great Quran in what it suposed to be translated to.

I think we can call it Quran without Great, Noble nor Holy, I think it's more easy and fast.

Plus, the book doesn't really live up to the adjectives.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I frequently refer to the bible as the "fucking bible" but the use of the adjective is only for emphasis. I have the same opinion of the koran.
