And all this time I thought the 25th was the day we celebrated claymation Mickey Rooney's escape from the evil clutches of the Meisterberger.

I'm sure there is crack in pringles.

That's the best you get?

I'm planning on getting seriously pissed.

Christians simply hijacked the 25th from its pagan origins.
People might be persuaded to give up a religion for another (or none). It's another matter entirely to ask them to give up a party.

(There's a line of thought, it's cropped up now and again, that the holy can -by their piety- make something "holy". The coopting of a variety of parties/holidays, in some part, was supposed to steal the wind from the sails of paganism in that early struggle for hearts and minds. Didn't work out, in the end, but for a time it seemed to be working.)
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

That reminds me of one of my favorite GoT quotes..

In every country and every age, the priest had been hostile to Liberty.

Kirk was on Outnumbered today, sporting facial hair!

Motile sperm and a secondary sexual characteristic, he just keeps hewing closer and closer to being a real man.

Just spitballing here, but maybe whats needed is a committee of tits and wine? The breadth of the subject almost begs for many voices.
