The cop will go free and some people will riot. Or the cop will be held for trial and other people will riot. What happens after that is anyone's guess. Ours is a seriously ill society, rent by every conceivable divide; race, economic status, degree of education, and religion to name just a few. We are beset by religious fundamentalist, have embraced war and violence, have rejected any thoughts of tolerance as an option, and abandoned any thought of being a common people working toward shared goals. We are a society teetering on the edge of disaster, the thing that pushes us over will come as a surprise to everyone. It may be Ferguson. It may not. But, eventually, it will be something. The cops are already rolling in their assault vehicles, the National guard is on standby, they don't stand a chance. What they always do. The people will loot and riot and burn down their own town. It doesn't make any difference to them if the cop shot in self defense or not. He's a white cop. That's all they see. Cops get off the hook for shootings all the time buddy. I don't think that we'd miss "the people" doing what they always do, if rioting and looting and burning down a city is what that is. Wouldn't be a brick left standing from coast to coast.

You know why the white majority doesn't riot over a murder? BECAUSE they have had a history of control. You know who has had a history of being slaves, and even after suffered through segregation? It wasn't Nicole's skin color.

"They do it too" is a bullshit argument. EVERY human regardless of skin color, regardless of nationality, political party, or religion OR skin color is capable of committing crime.

The point you keep missing is that white people and black people HAVE NOT had the same history. That failure to accept that is why you stupidly cannot accept that the crime rates are not a matter of blacks committing anymore crime than whites. Blacks are simply arrested more and punished more harshly.


AND AGAIN we can go outside America and see the same behavior of minorities in other countries by their majorities. That treatment of minorities by that majority is a matter of long term social conditioning. Unless you live it your point of view is going to be skewed.


My x- wife was Japanese, and she said, as if it was a shock to me which it wasn't, that even Japan has different dialects and if she visits a part of Japan where she is not used to that, she will be treated as the minority, and if those folks came down to her hometown they would be treated as a minority. Now if that can happen on mere dialect alone, how much worse do you think it can be with race and or religion?

Again, even a Sunni majority is going to treat a Shiite minority differently. A Shiite majority is going to treat a Sunni minority differently. And both are going to treat non Arabs and non Muslims differently.

And Jews BORN in Germany were GERMAN born citizens, but despite being German they still got the short end of the stick under the Nazis.

Your ignorance claiming "blacks do it too" is not an argument. All humans will under similar conditions on average will as both a majority and or minority behave within the same range because of CONDITIONS. Both the conditions of the majority, and the conditions of the minority.

if you take out drug charges that number plummets. Also, cops dont patrol my neighborhood with the vigilance they do in black neighborhoods. The difference is children here use cocaine pot and heroin. The black population tends to use pot crack and meth. We slap white kids on the wrist we give black kids felonies.

The point is in a free society we should expect that a certain percentage of the time people are going to get away with murder. This is just a trade off of having a free society. Since cops are people, a certain percentage of the time cops are going to get away with murder.

I knew a cop whose wife "died in a fall". I think she was pushed and to this day I think he got away with murder. Now I would never going out to loot even though I believe a grave injustice has been committed. My not looting has nothing to do with control, but rather a simple realization that sometimes bad people are going to get away committing horrendous crimes. Sometimes those bad people who commit horrendous crimes are going to be cops.

When I see assholes like Minimalist start "fucking cops threads" part of me gets pissed that Minimalist the uber douche is attempting to demonize cops and sell hate to promote his political view. Another part of me is glad because when cops behave badly...they should be called out for it. I suppose even evil douche bags like Minimalist serve a productive purpose in the world.

All that considered, I have never seen a situation in which a cops actions justified rioting and looting. Rioters and looters are just as evil as evil cops who commit crimes in my opinion....and as far as I am concerned Brian37.....you are an evil ass for giving them a pass.
