I've had a lot of experience with cops. I've had them pull guns on me twice. If I was as dumb as Michael Brown seems to have been, I might be dead today. All in all though my experience with them has generally been good and pleasant.

Minimalist is being an ass with his "fucking cops" thread because he is portraying an unbalanced view. Which I assume is the view he holds....which is I think he is such a dumb ass.

I could see some riots taking place. At least in Ferguson! But if the mob doesn't target the police station, specifically, or perhaps City Hall, or some other house of government, and it turns out to be shop owners who share a skin color with the rioters who are having THEIR stuff vandalized? Then the majority of rioters are just a bunch of punks looking for an excuse to steal!

The point is in a free society we should expect that a certain percentage of the time people are going to get away with murder. This is just a trade off of having a free society. Since cops are people, a certain percentage of the time cops are going to get away with murder.

I knew a cop whose wife "died in a fall". I think she was pushed and to this day I think he got away with murder. Now I would never going out to loot even though I believe a grave injustice has been committed. My not looting has nothing to do with control, but rather a simple realization that sometimes bad people are going to get away committing horrendous crimes. Sometimes those bad people who commit horrendous crimes are going to be cops.

When I see assholes like Minimalist start "fucking cops threads" part of me gets pissed that Minimalist the uber douche is attempting to demonize cops and sell hate to promote his political view. Another part of me is glad because when cops behave badly...they should be called out for it. I suppose even evil douche bags like Minimalist serve a productive purpose in the world.

All that considered, I have never seen a situation in which a cops actions justified rioting and looting. Rioters and looters are just as evil as evil cops who commit crimes in my opinion....and as far as I am concerned Brian37.....you are an evil ass for giving them a pass.

I have addressed both Wilsons actions and reaction to the Brown shooting as a collective result of CONDITIONS.

You stupidly confuse explanation of WHY people behave the way they do as an excuse. I can explain how hurricanes form, that does not mean I want them affecting me. CONDITIONS in weather lead to the formation of hurricanes and even hurricanes affect parts of the planet more than other parts.

A white rural poor person with kids, if they have no food, and no job and no support from the community, is more likely to turn to whatever they have to do to survive.

You do not have to excuse for example the actions of the Somali pirates to know that poverty will lead them to get that desperate. Same reason a white poor rural parent might steal a loaf of bread.

Same reason people from third world countries and South America immigrate here. If your conditions are bad, you are going to do what you a have to survive.

You want to know why North Korea is kept on such a tight leash by China? Because China does not want a refugee problem if a war were to break out. Again China and North Korea may have one party rule attitudes to government rule, but Chinese people are not going to treat North Koreans who may escape there the same way they treat each other. Chinese Buddhist being the majority are also not going to treat Chinese Muslims the same.

POINT OF VIEW matters and CONDITIONS matter. Instead of being a judgmental idiot, take yourself outside your own bubble. There is a huge difference between explanation and excusing something.

A white cop shoots a black guy, presumably in self defense, and you're all ready for the protest march, and the looting, and the rioting to begin in Ferguson. Break out the Marshmallows boys! Ferguson will be burning! Where's your big mouth regarding the black on black murder rate and violence in Chicago? Since you're so concerned about the Black Plight why aren't you leading the protest charge there? I guess as far as you and a few others here on the Forum are concerned it's okay for blacks to kill other blacks. It's just not okay for a white cop to defend himself against a black attacker, if that was the case here. Since you and others of you here on the forum are supposed to be the open minded tolerant guys who uphold fairness and justice, and who despise racism, why are you guys silent when it comes to black on white crimes? Why do you ignore the black on black crimes and the black on black murder rate? I agree. But that abuse didn't magically pop out of nowhere. If your mindset is "no rules", "No regulations" and you ignore economic stability, you set the conditions to the point where people will do what they have to to survive, compound that with a gun industry that pumps guns out like candy, seems a bit absurd to expect law enforcement to use squirt guns when Tea Party nuts murder cops with guns.

This is the sick fear crap the NRA corporate lobby group uses to pit society against law enforcement. Daffy Duck is pitting the beagle against Fog Horn. Gun makers and weapons factories sell to BOTH government and civilians. That fear coming from both civilians and law enforcement is great for gun sales.

And even with military contractors. Law enforcement fears not being able to combat an armed public, "poof" the heavy weapon vehicle private factories pump out more vehicles the military says it does not need, in turn the military sells it's surplus to law enforcement.

Follow the money. Follow the greed. Big business pits everyone against each other, and while we are busy fighting each other, they keep getting richer.

Um no. Other countries who allow guns, also limit the types of guns and the volume of guns. It is no different than setting standards on street legal cars. No one is allowed to drive on a public road with a Hummer 5 lanes wide, nor would they be allowed to own a jet or tank. And if the road is too congested we look for ways to reduce that congestion.

The volume of guns also matter. Your rightful accepting screening and training means nothing if you are trying to use a fork to nail jello to the wall. The laws are meaningless if the flooded market creates a game of whack a mole.
