Janay Rice and God's Plan
#21
RE: Janay Rice and God's Plan
I wonder what church/religion/faith (if any) Janay and/or Ray attend and what the hierarchy there thinks of her take on how God works.

If she gets too far afield, maybe she needs to declare a schism and start the Janayites . . . .

I hereby volunteer my services to beat the fuck out of Drich a couple of times a year.

I mean, I don't have the kind of money talked about, but I'd happily mortgage my home for the privilege.

This reminds me, all the morons who think the Rams players who put up their hands are supporting crime missed all the players and black sports announcers who raked Ray Rice over the coals for knocking out his now wife.

These same morons who think blacks support crime wanted to give Ben Rothlessburger a pass on his rape allegations. And didn't Farve get accused too.

Blacks get accused of something, they are automatically guilty. Whites get accused of something "Lets not assume".

Ok... enough with the race card. Ray Rice is CLEARLY guilty of beating his now-wife. We can clearly see it on the video. I don't give a shit if someone is green, they have no right to beat anyone like that. I'm happy it's out in the open, because it's making the NFL do something about domestic violence, a passion of mine.

Although, the fact that the NFL was supporting breast cancer awareness as opposed to domestic violence in October really pisses me off. And Roger Goodell should be sacrificed to a pack of starving lions.

Also, did you read the article you posted, Brian? There is nothing indicating that any of those women were telling the truth. There aren't even any charges. What Ray Rice did is out there for anyone to see.

I was just thinking that no team would be willing to touch Ray Rice... And then I realized that I'm probably wrong.

Nope, it is not the "race card" I am playing.

You don't want to face an ugly truth so it is easier to get stuck in the moment.

Show me in my post where I was in denial that Ray did that? NO SHIT everyone saw it. Now please do not stupidly accuse me of giving him a pass. You missed the part where his fellow players and all the announcers raked him over the coals and RIGHTFULLY SO.

My response isn't about Ray. My response is about a long term picture about how divisions between races are perpetuated by intentional bigots and or simply those who have a simplistic view and would rather not talk about race or pretend it isn't a problem.

I just gave you a link to an article of two white players accused of sexual harassment and sexual assault. While it was reported, the tone of the reporting is different and eventually those players were never charged.

If you say you do not want it to be about race. GREAT, then you can start by accepting that it is a real problem.

Again no shit........But again, how many cops show up to domestic disputes or get accusations of sexual assault on whites, that do not have video and never go past a police report.

There were no videos of me and my friends when we were drunk and high as teens smashing cars. There was no video of the party in my basement where we were drunk and where a girl got beaten up. Cops never showed up.

And in both those cases of my stupid destructive behavior, if the cops had shown up, I would have been less likely to be charged as harshly.

In my mid 20s I watch a couple whom I met at a bar and saw them there several times. Constantly argued, hit each other, and the worst that happened to them is they got kicked out of the bar.

No one is saying having a conversation about race is fun, no one wants race to be an issue. But not talking about it because it is ugly does not make it go away.

Actaully, I volunteer as part of a domestic violence response team, and I've not once seen a situation where blacks were treated any differently from whites.

I'm not even trying to correct you; racism IS a problem. This scenario has nothing to do with race, though. It has to do with a man violently beating his girlfriend.

Also, please don't talk to me that way. I have never been anything other than respectful to you.
