Science Keeps Working

RE: Science Keeps Working
Way to go dudes! We're getting there.

The race between science and religion is like the race between the hare and the turtle. The hare may have all the training, is better equipped and runs more efficiently, but the turtle has been dead for 2000 years. I think we can call it.

Ha! Speaking of skepticism and the tortoise and the hare:

My daughter was gonna be late for school one morning. We rushed around in a frantic race to get her ready and in the car. When we finally hit the road, my daughter says, "Hurry, dad. We're gonna be late!" So I say, "Slow and steady wins the race." Making the connection, she says, "Like the tortoise and the hare." I nodded, and after a few beats she says "So, the hare was so sure he was gonna win that he took a nap..." I said, "Yeah." ..."So, when he was napping, the tortoise passed him and won."..."Yeah."..."So, the hare was the slowest and he lost. You should hurry and get me to school" Big Grin Got me there, kid.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

As long as scientists are tied to the grant strings of the (publicly financed) feeding trough of govt. my skepticism is unbounded. Yours ought to be also.

Unfounded cynicism =/= scepticism.

Fidel, when Vietnam was going on, there was a draft (illegal / unconstitutional) going on.
My generation was victim to a government scam- that war.
Prior to that was Korea, before that WW2. The list goes on and on.

I learned to look for an agenda whenever government is involved in anything.
The agenda is control and transfer of wealth.
War is a gigantic scheme of both.
How is science involved?
First in the technology of war-making, second in the system of control.

Example-The govt. is pushing for justification of more control via "Climate Change".
Any scientist who proclaims to be able to prove it gets a flood of grant money.

Whatever he finds is trumpeted into a cause.
Now the various agencies can justify control of aspects of your life, when previously they could not.
Latest issue is one of them wants control, not merely of waterways and rivers (transportation systems)-
they want to control the puddles in YOUR back yard or the water coming out of your faucets.
This is how it works, and only one example, and why my view is not paranoia (unjustified caution) or cynicisim but justified skepticism.

Awesome!
Now, do the same for whoever wrote this:

Quote:In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

What's wrong with this?

Right, because unjustified certainty topped with a helping of arrogance and a side order of flaming ignorance is how we learn and progress as a species.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Either we are absolutely certain or we know nothing at all. Very helpful black and white thinking again.

Damn those scientists! Pushing the mere "theory" of gravity to push their gravity-based agenda with the government to increase the control of the people! Hell, the "scientists" even created new laws without going through congress. Newton? A dictator. Imposing his "laws of motion" is just more proof that the establishment is using science to control us!
In every country and every age, the priest had been hostile to Liberty.

You have been had.

As long as the word "Scientist" or "Science" or "Scientists" are in the article somewhere, the Nuevo priests have waved their magic dust on the information and we are good to go. Right?

And you are a dumb fuck for believing absurd fairy tales.
