Because if women were manly, they'd be men.

I wouldn't mind having a few husbands.

It would make sense. If three couples have two children each, that doesn't increase or decrease the population. If three of the men in each couple shared the same woman wouldn't that decrease the population?

And because I believe a woman should not be a pastor that means I hate women? So far, I've never advanced the position that people should be denied the right to have homosexual relations or women denied the right to be pastors in a church that allows it. Why do you assume something that you don't know about?

No, my position is that you're not absolved of responsibility for the opinions you hold just because you're just following orders. You may not hate women and gays, but the opinions you hold of them are hateful ones, and you don't get to be free of the consequences of those opinions just by saying "oh, they're not my hateful opinions! They're god's hateful opinions!"

Regardless of how you came to your views, they're still your views, and whether you've frontloaded those views with genuine, rabid hate, or with deference to an authority that you feel holds those views, they are what they are. To say that the homophobic, misogynistic views you hold aren't either of those things because you don't literally fear gay people or hate women, when the views themselves look, sound, and achieve the effects of misogyny and homophobia, then what you're engaged in is sophistry, not some form of effective correction.

Quote:If you want to call a union between two dogs marriage you can. I jut said that I think it's wrong to change the meaning of an institution that is sacred to so many.

And as I've pointed out before, the sacredness of an idea, the attachment that you personally have to it, does not confer ownership over that idea to you. You know this, because you wouldn't bend over backwards in support of any of my examples of sacred beliefs, you just expect other people to do it for you.

It's special pleading, plain and simple.

Additionally, that crack about dogs is ridiculous and offensive, and you said it in such a blase, thoughtless way, yet you distance yourself from homophobia? Dodgy

Biologically speaking, one woman having several husbands makes the most sense. Women can last longer in bed, and having sex with multiple husbands increases the chance of pregnancy and varied genes.

If the goal is to have as many biologically diverse babies as possible, then it's probably better to do away with husbands and wives and just have everyone go at it like rabbits.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Lol, well said.

I seem to remember my future father in law not "giving her away" in the old way of trading "property".

Christians make terrible historians.
