It's the same with suicidal thoughts. I don't actually want to commit suicide but the thoughts come by.

I have plenty of reasons against these thoughts and reason against them. So if I'm against these thoughts, and they disturb me when I get them such as I feel why am I getting these thoughts...why do I get them? And what can be done about this?

You are quite normal, thoughts like that slip through an otherwise normal functioning brain because we are exposed to things like that, it happens to most everyone. Go have a nice day.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

G_C is on the right lines, if the wrong train. Dark thoughts are as natural to the functioning of the human brain as positive, and indeed neutral, ones. However, it's not a result of being exposed to such things, though this has to have an effect to an extent. It's merely a normal function of the way our brains process information, making us prone to fantasise. The time to worry is when you don't get these thoughts.

Either way, stop beating yourself up. Give someone else a go. Smile
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Just the other day I was at Chapters. There was a candle and it occurred to me to burn a book with it. I'm going to talk to my doctor about it. This didn't always happen to me.

I don't know how old you are, but there was a phase in my life when I couldn't help thinking of slaying people. Even my parents. I was scared and apalled by my thoughts, but of course I didn't act on them. There was also a time when I felt the need to destroy things. Sometimes I acted on it. It passed, but if you're really that concerned, you definetely should see a doctor. If for nothing else then to put your mind at ease.
