Pain Receptors

For a long time it was thought that the sense of feeling and pain was dependent on the brain. However it has been discovered that there are pain receptors present in the skin [18]. Without these pain receptors, a person would not be able to feel pain.Consider the following verse on pain:

We shall send those who reject Our revelations to the (Hell) Fire. When their skins have been burned away, We shall replace them with new ones so that they may continue to feel the pain: God is Almighty, All-Wise. [4:56]

Neither science nor revalation is needed to figure out that the main way we feel pain is through our skin. It's s simple observation. You misunderstand the thought behind saying pain is felt in the brain: it is the brain that is signaled by the pain receptors in the skin (and elsewhere) and interprets those signals as pain. Cut the connection between the receptor and the brain, and you won't feel the pain. If Allah is omnipotent, it would be trivial to induce pain by stimulating the brain directly, even if the skin was gone. The reverse you refer to was clearly intended to explain to Mohammed's followers, who clearly already knew that for ordinary purposes skin was necessary to feel pain, why they would not cease feeling it once their skin was burnt off in hell.

God tells the people who reject his message that when they are in Hell and their skins are burnt off (so they can’t feel any pain), he will give them new skins so that they continue to feel the pain.

It would have been more impressive if he had told them all he needs to make them feel burning agony is their brains. THAT would have seemed like eery foreknowledge.

The Quran makes it clear that pain is dependent upon on the skin. The discovery of pain receptors in the skin is a fairly recent discovery for Biology.

It's only impressive if you think the Muslims of the time couldn't possibly have been intelligent enough to make a connection between their skin being damaged and feeling pain.

Though I'm wondering if you think a broken bone won't hurt if the skin isn't damaged? The skin isn't the only organ with pain receptors.

I don't have to "handle" my wife. We are best friends. It is not a burden to me at all to have many intimate friends, but it doesn't work out that way as multiple wifes don't often feel simultaneously secure in a relationship they didn't initiate. If the two women were married and then wished to include me, that would be ok, but again, that is pretty rare.
The typical multi wife family occurs when women are pressured by an outside force to accept a sheep status and conform. Typically that force would be a misogynistic religion.

I don't know whether the words you're putting into his mouth actually apply to him, but I do not blame Islam for the loss of two buildings, I blame Al Qaeda and the US policy of supporting the House of Saud, which was the proximal motivation of the attack. The policy did not justify the attack (and did absolutely nothing to change the situation), but the policy is deeply misguided and bound to incite extremists.

In similar fashion, the loss of two buildings did not justify a full invasion of two countries, or many of the other actions our government has taken in the Middle East. However, you'll find that the majority of the atheists on this forum agree that the US response was unjustified and the Muslim lives lost a terrible and needless tragedy.

Not unpredictable, though. The US is well-known for disproportionate response to attack on its soil, Osama bin Laden was fully aware of what he was bringing down on the Middle East if he succeeded in his attack. It's what he wanted, and it's a shame our government fell for it.

I think that the stated reasons for our response were unjustifiable, but that many other justifiable and actionable reasons to invade existed that we could have - and should have- referred too - but also that all lives lost, on either side, were a tragedy.

After the death of her husband she had no right to live and was forced to be burnt alive at the pyre of her husband. This inhuman custom was called the Sati. If she had no issue from her husband, she was forced to lie with her husband's brothers to get pregnant. This practice was called "Niyoga".Outside Arabia, conditions for women were no better.
