By this they mean they prayed more, right?
By that they mean they mobilized more Italian Police units. The Vatican is like a scumbag flatmate who always takes your food from the fridge.
But this once I hope the Church isn't harmed. Just because it would hurt my country more than them. The xenophobic christian-pagan (don't even get me started about that...) chucklefucks of the Northern League couldn't wish for a better chance to expand their vote base.

It's a shame two opposite types of crazy don't cancel each other out.

Surely even that will do, any old iron chariot could keep some rag-tags with RPGs at bay if it can repel a god.

So walk me through this -- say hypothetically, ISIS(L) makes good on their threat and launches an attack resulting in harm or death of the Pope.
Then what? What does the semi-homogeneous "west" do about it?
They are already a very naughty group indeed and not exactly on everyone's XMAS card list.

You should care. It would probably be the precursor to an all-out war.
How many tanks does the Vatican have?

If the pope is harmed and not killed he would go back on what he has said and says fuck them do your jobs people and stop them.

Vatican City is a sovereign nation, and as Davka points out they have no useful military forces of their own. Their formal neutrality means that they have no security treaty with any other nation, either. They'd have to ask another country to undertake the war on the Vatican's behalf. Italy could perhaps be pushed into that position, because by treaty Italy is supposed to treat an attack on the Pope as an attack on the Italian king, but that's a little bit of a stretch.
I imagine us Americans would be easy to sway into another foreign adventure, unfortunately.
