Atheists only vote please: Do absolute MORAL truths exist? Is Rape ALWAYS "wrong"?
RE: Atheists only vote please: Do absolute MORAL truths exist? Is Rape ALWAYS "wrong"?
We have been engorging the prospect of a "Rape" based culture for years, if we were to treat rape the same as murder, the justice system might be able to fight it more effectively. But, rich people get away it all the time; evidence is lost and judges are paid off. With the concept of Rape being around since caveman days and in religious groups. Most atheists I have talked have some of the morality of there religious parents in them. What needs to be done about this issue in society is to stop making "Rape" a popular thing in sexuality. A prime example is "50 Shades of Gray", I understand it's a fantasy for some to rape or to be raped. So, my point is that there is way to really stop such acts from happening without taking away freedoms. As far as the question of it being moral or in-moral, is a question with no possible answer. My opinion on this is that I would never do such a thing nor I have had a fantasy on the action being committed.

If you have a fantasy to rape, I think that if given the opportunity that person would probably commit the act.

Sterben, you are aware that the very definition of rape is a sexual act without consent, right? Can you explain how does someone want to be raped, then?
As in, they want to have sex while not wanting to have sex?

My post I feel is right to the point of the issue at hand. While I do agree with most of what I have read from you Losty, Why does a person who rapes a person and is found guilty of the action gets less time in prison then a person who kills someone? Both actions are forced upon the victim and both actions are deemed wrong by most people. Your thoughts lostly?

Oh, I would ravage any women with all my passion and take her to places she has never been before, If she were willing. What part of this simple concept don't you understand? To use someone else's body against their will for personal pleasure is what rape is. Although rape is something that mostly women suffer, there are cases of men suffering from it also. I don't know who got animal rights into this bullshit, but working in a 'bacon' factory, no animal there suffers an infinitesimal part of what a human being suffers at the hands of rapists.

Yes I am aware of the definition of "Rape", and if you look at from a fantasy prescriptive. There are people who are aroused on by the actions of a forced sexual encounter. Now, if the woman or man is hinting that they don't want to be involved, but at the same time hinting that they do want it go on. Is that a rape fantasy that is popular?

Probably because the damage is less. Why is a person who punches someone in the face not treated legally the same as a murder? Both actions are forced upon the victim and both actions are deemed wrong by most people.

Why do you think a person with rape fantasies is likely to rape someone??
I suppose you also (falsely) think a person with fantasies about being raped would enjoy being raped for real??

There's a huge difference between rape fantasy and actual rape. The main difference being that one is consensual and the other is not.

It came from some people saying rape isn't always wrong if it's animals and not humans that are doing the raping of each other and some people disagreeing and some people saying that isn't actually rape at all.

Here's the thing: even people with rape fantasies, by and large, don't want what actual rape is. The turn on is the loss of control, but it is still a fantasy, and the moment it stops being a part of their fantasy and starts being something they genuinely don't want, they'd like an emergency brake. You can trust me on this, I've indulged more than a few women in their rape fantasies, and talked to many more than that about them.

There is a difference between rape, and consensual non-consent: the latter allows the fantasist to enjoy their fantasy in a controlled environment with clearly defined limitations to keep it sexy for them, whereas actual rape is... actual rape, with no concern for the victim whatsoever.

By definition, nobody actually wants to be raped. They literally can't: the moment they consent to it it's no longer rape. But that doesn't mean that certain aspects of rape can't be arousing to people.

I don't even think rape fantasies can be equated with real rape - I have rape fantasies, lots of them, but I'd never rape someone in real life - My rape fantasies are basically a very rough kind of sex, and she enjoys it too. From fantasy to reality it goes a long way - I don't think anyone with rape fantasies would actually want to be raped - The fun in those fantasies is knowing who you're doing it with and how you're doing it, it's great but you know it's not real. It's the same as comparing consented BDSM to a sadistic partner beating you without consent during sex (domestic violence)

Damn Esquilax you beat me to it, I took to long to type Smile
