He wrote about going on drunken binges, instead of just staying on a drunken binge. Going off of a drunken binge entails a time of sobriety, which puts people out of work. Suggesting that people should spend time sober strikes me as extremely irresponsible, as well as a detrimental to all of those hard-working individuals who labor to create alcohol, and in so doing, support their families. Do you really want to be responsible for causing vineyard workers in France to lose their jobs, or distillers in Scotland to lose their jobs, or brewers in Belgium to lose their jobs? Are you so heartless and cruel that you want these people to be out of work, and their children to starve? I say, drink up, and help keep people honestly employed!

Think of the children! Alcoholism is
Altruism.
I can see the bumper sticker now.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat?

He's got to stop long enough to collect enough cash to pay for the booze. Or to do the necessary favors to get someone else to pay for them. Lack of planning would actually harm all of those hardworking liquor providers. You can't just get people to stomp on grapes all day for free anymore.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Some people are perfectly capable of multitasking, and earn a living while drunk.

Pfft, this is why liquor store robberies were invented.

Someone needs to rob liquor stores in PA... they are all state owned. So by all means, please steal from the government

Just for the record, my approach to moments of sobriety is to drown them. They never last long.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

It is good to know that you are doing your part to keep people working and to stimulate the economy.
