Good question - If my religion tells me that blacks are inferior and sinful, can I refuse to serve them?

I didn't even know Mormons don't like blacks - I was just using an example - Why is sexual orientation less important than race?

The necessity for anti-discrimination laws forbidding discrimination based on color of skin was a result of government interference. Government created the problem by curtailing the individual freedom of people of color....but that is the topic of another thread.
You will need to explain that statement or be seen as utterly insane.

Unless you are an employee fulfilling conditions of employment you should be free to serve who ever you want and be free to refuse service to those you do not want to serve. You were born to be self determinate and so you should remain.

After the civil war you had a situation where you had a black population who knew how to work very hard, were productive, intelligent, and therefore could have easily moved up the economic ladder. They were doing it. Of course certain societal elements didn't like that so they passed laws which restricted peoples freedoms specifically the freedom of the black population. Jim Crow laws, minimum wage laws designed to cheap black labor out of the market, etc.
Had blacks been given all the freedoms due to them as human beings, we wouldn't have needed the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Discrimination would have been punished economically. Blacks would have integrated into society and old stereo types would have faded away.
It wasn't slavery that destroyed black society and kept in the ghetto. It was the force of government.

Are you serious? Those laws were passed by the whites in power. Those laws are exactly what you are promoting: institutionalized discrimination.
You want the Christians in power to pass laws allowing for institutionalized discrimination.

But what you're not getting, Cato, is that in 60 years, we'll pass laws outlawing this "force of government" that disenfranchises gays and pretend it was government, not the majority in power, that made it happen in the first place.

It was passing of laws that stripped blacks from having any political power and made discrimination free from economic consequences that institutionalized it. Take away the Jim Crow laws and take away the minimum wage laws designed to price cheap black labor out the market and the world would have been a much better place. Blacks would be on par or surpassing whites today. They wouldn't be relegated to the ghetto. It was stripping people of there rights and ability to be self determinant that created the mess....and somehow you think stripping people of their rights and ability to be self determinant is going to make it better?

Do you seriously think that government is some autonomous machine without anyone at the helm? Who do you think passed those laws?
Are you seriously equating Christians---the overwhelming majority---with blacks in the South, the disenfranchised minority?
I'm done here. This thread has simply devolved into you getting your troll rocks off.

Its is difficult to have an argument with you if you can't even follow along.
Nobody is equating Christians with blacks. People are equating gays with blacks. People are equating the discrimination against gays and saying it is equivalent to the discrimination against blacks.
It isn't.
You could reasonably argue that the civil rights act of 1964 was needed because at the time the market wasn't serving blacks. You can not credibly make that argument about gays. Gays have little difficulty finding other people willing to exchange goods and services with them.
