Yeah that's it obvious. If you love beauty, what if there is higher levels for you to become beautiful and see beauty in beautiful souls as well as being enticed by the beauty of the Creator? What if there is beautiful light that you would love to grow in it. Is praising that beauty something you would hate? Is growing in that beauty something that you would hate?
There is nothing beautiful about the Abrahamic god, even as depicted in its "holy" books.

The holy books don't manifest God. Look at ISIS they read the Quran and have a horrible view of God. It takes a wakeful heart penetrating the dark veils to see the beauty of God.
When Quran was revealed, Mohammad said he is the house of wisdom and Ali is it's door. Ali was like Aeron, better at conveying the higher truths, so he was made the door to the wisdom of Mohammad.
If you haven't studied the higher teachings of mysticism and theology of the Imams, you will not understand the Quran.
People reading the Quran accused Imam Ali of being a disbeliever. People reading the Quran murdered Imam Hussain and his companions.
The Quran has Satanic suggestions and veils and blocks from the dark forces. Leave it aside for now.
Look for the signs of God within yourself first and seek knowledge of the self even if you have to go to China. This is the gateway to God.

I'm an ex-Christian.
You don't think all of this has been tried by me?
I don't need the concept of an imaginary friend to get me through life and make me a decent person.
Oh, and as I've managed to get to know myself better, the less I have needed a deity to lean on.

I believed that would be a reward for the good as a Deist as well.
Your beliefs are irrelevant, M/K. You cannot prove any of it is real. Apparently, all you can do is regurgitate your book which means exactly nothing.

Maybe you don't need a deity to get through a life and make you a decent person from a standard you have. But what if you can attain higher stages through connecting to a higher light?
What if you can reach the following station with constant prayer to God:
Enlighten the eyes of our hearts with the light of their looking at You to the extent that they penetrate the veils of light and reach the Source of Grandeur, and let our souls get suspended by the glory of Your sanctity.
My Lord, make me one of those whom You call and they respond; when You look at and they are thunderstruck by Your majesty. You whisper to them secretly and they work for You openly.
If you were meant for something higher.
Don't you sometimes watch movies and wish you can be a hero, the goodness in them you wish you can have it.
A close friend of God is like a hero. It's like being Gandalf the white.
Now wanting it won't make God real. But don't you think it's worth the effort to search out the higher knowledge if it exists, so not to miss out on this reward and opportunity?

Being closer to the abrahamic god doesn't make one a hero. A close friend to Yahweh/Allah would be more like saruman, or Sauron. People become heroes by helping people. Not acting strictly to further their own goals.

By the standards of the Abrahamic deity I'm a saint, especially when compared TO the Abrahamic deity.

Gibberish.
Sounds like the kind of stuff you get from a philosophy major after an all-night kegger.

Forget the Abrahamic God. No one should accept a book he isn't convinced of. No one should worship a Lord they find ugly.
If the book you read you find God ugly in it, then don't believe in the book or worship the God depicted by it.
"Don't follow that which you have no knowledge of"- Quran.
But also don't make your uncertain opinions as absolute. Don't rely on conjecture.
