Not many people would have walked away from calling Tywin Lannister a sword swallower....
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

So is a dire wolf just a normal wolf but slightly bigger?
Were normal wolves not impressive enough? If so it would've been cheaper to just cast smaller actors rather than CGI the dire wolves
“The larger the group, the more toxic, the more of your beauty as an individual you have to surrender for the sake of group thought. And when you suspend your individual beauty you also give up a lot of your humanity. You will do things in the name of a group that you would never do on your own. Injuring, hurting, killing, drinking are all part of it, because you've lost your identity, because you now owe your allegiance to this thing that's bigger than you are and that controls you.” - George Carlin

Why would you potentially compromise the quality of the actors just so you didn't have to CGI wolves?

It's clearer in the books, but even in the TV show I believe there has been more than one mention of an every growing pack of wolves roaming south of the Trident, led by a giant, ferocious she-wolf. I could be mixing my book memories with my TV memories though.....(May 8, 2015 at 9:33 pm)Saxmoof Wrote: Were normal wolves not impressive enough?
