Religious people - Which music is pure?

Lol yes indeed. Do a YouTube search for Seth Andrews the copycats. If you're not familiar with the way the Christian industry has copied anything and everything they can get their hands on, it's a real eye opener.

When I was growing up the limitations were set down on anything that cursed, had suggestive lyrics or had a harsher tone than soft rock.
So basically that meant anything that wasn't Christian, censored to death or void of lyrics was off the table.
Thank fuck I kept a CD player and a small collection of music hidden away.

All music is. Well, just as long as you play it through a Pure brand radio.

Religious songs are creepy ._.
They're all like hey, I'm gonna praise my abusive imaginary master and if you don't do it too you'll be in pain forever after you die and I'll be laughing, kumbaya!

They don't do that because they don't need to do that. They are good enough to sell their music anyway. Christian rock bands that are complete worthless garbage advertise themselves as "Christian" in order to sell to people who wish to make sure that they are avoiding "bad" influences. If they were actually good, they would not need to advertise themselves as "Christian." If they were actually good, then people would buy their music without such a gimmick, without that special advertising to get into a niche market.
That's about ridiculous, they are telling people who they are and what they represent. If what you say were true the rock bands would have never had to call themselves rock band, their music should have stood on it's own merit and wouldn't have been pointed directly at a new audience, Kids. U2 doesn't hide the fact of Christian belief either. As I stated earlier there have been many musically talented rock bands, morally most leave not much to be desired for the Christian.

I have heard some "Christian Rock" and all of it that I have heard is terrible. Now, it is possible that there is a "Christian Rock" band that does not suck, but I have never heard them, or even heard of them from someone with decent taste. From what I have heard of "Christian Rock," given their poor quality, the only way they could sell much is by appealing to a niche market, which is what they do. In the case of U2, you are right that they do not hide their Christian beliefs. But they do not market themselves as a "Christian Rock" band; they compete with other rock bands directly, because they are good enough to compete with other rock bands. That is the point of bringing them up; I am not saying that being a Christian makes one unable to play rock music. I am saying that if you are a rock musician who lacks talent, probably your best bet is to find some special niche market so that you don't have to compete with actual good musicians, but only with others within your niche. So bands that suck can market themselves as "Christian Rock" in order to be able to sell their music, when they could not compete with proper bands.

There's also the fact he's a cheating bastard when it comes to matters of money
By that reasoning, many Catholic priests are not Christians because they bugger little boys. There are many Christians who do things that they will tell you is wrong to do. Hell, you will be hard-pressed to find anyone who qualifies as a "Christian" if you are going to insist that the person never has done anything against Christian doctrine. So you are not disproving anything about the beliefs of the members of the band.
I suggest you look at some of their lyrics in some of their songs, and you will see that they have had several very Christian songs that they have done.
Now, maybe they are all atheists and have just been pretending, writing songs that say things that they don't believe at all, in order to make money. Obviously, I cannot see into their minds and know absolutely that they are Christians, but they have certainly sung some Christian songs.
