Do you have the right to be an atheist?
RE: Do you have the right to be an atheist?
You could, if it makes you happy, separate people into default atheists and cognitive atheists.

Default atheists: Having no concept of a god, it's impossible to believe such a thing exists. This would always be a weak atheist, because you couldn't hold the belief such a thing doesn't exist either.

Cognitive atheists: Having heard about the concept of a god, the person is unconvinced that they are real.

"Just agnostics": People who won't answer the question of belief about whether they are convinced there is a god. Tongue But they're still an atheist or a theist.

Someone who is confused, unsure, mulling it over, undecided, unwilling to commit etc... is a (weak) atheist. They are not convinced. Nor are they convinced there is no god, hence weak atheist.

Russell said he would rather be described by his worst enemies than praised by philosophers who agree with him, or smth like that. I'm going to only read replies from you guys from now, 'cause life is too short to listen to this guy(even if we manage to prolong it indefinitely one day).

Atheism =/= Disbelief in god.
Then what term does = disbelief in god?

By the way, check this out, I think this kind of articles is where pool got his nonsense from:

a- :lacking/without
theism : belief in god

a-theism: lacking/without belief in god

a-atheistism: lacking belief in atheists

a-a-atheistismistism: you get the idea.

no, you come on.

athe·ism
\ˈā-thē-ˌi-zəm\
noun
1 archaic :ungodliness, wickedness
2 a :a disbelief in the existence of deity
b :the doctrine that there is no deity

(a referring to weak atheism and b to strong atheism which we already covered, but just a reminder)

What would the disbelief in god be called then?

seriously. Atheism is not believing in god, that's it. it doesn't need a god claim. it's the default position of every human being.

Words mean stuff. If you want to call default atheism paranonionalitionism, then that's cool. All we have to do is agree on the definition of words. We use our definitions, or we use yours. But pointing out differences between people's definitions doesn't prove anything in of itself.

RE: Do you have the right to be an atheist?
Well, this sucks, considering the fact that i was called stupid because i said that Atheism is - not having a belief(disbelief) in god.
Everyone explained to me how Atheism is simply rejecting the claims made by theism and i'm wrong(and how its a bad idea to google Atheism definition and think what Atheism means is the first thing that comes as the search result and lots more)  - i understood.
Now that i'm saying that Atheism is not - not having a belief(disbelief) in god but rather Atheism is - Rejecting the claims made by theists.
You are saying that i'm wrong again!
I mean c'mon!

I wonder why everyone that corrected me in the first place isn't supporting me now.

fucking shit.

Atheism = disbelief in god, lacking the belief in god
The god claim doesn't have to be made. Theism doesn't need to exist.

I don't know how to put it simpler ._.

you were talking about strong (gnostic) atheism, which is a certainty there is no god, which isn't true for the vast majority of atheists, here and everywhere, which is why we corrected you
