Iran might be against ISIS, but I hope people don't forget they're just as crazy and make North Korea look peaceful.
Actually, the Iranian leadership is pretty pragmatic. This deal was signed because the Iranian economy has been crippled by the sanctions; the Iranians want the sanctions lifted. I don't believe they'll do anything to jeopardize a more open trade, at least in the short- and mid-term.

Lindsey Graham is just shitting bricks. He can't stand the thought that he may have lost out on another war to trumpet.

I am in favor of anything resembling continuous engagement with the Iranians on important issues. Iran is a young country, in terms of its demographics, and there is a great deal of anecdotal evidence that the younger Iranians are not necessarily on board with the ruling generation. Always remember: you have not converted a man because you have silenced him. The younger Iranians might surprise all of us by proving to be better republicans than many in the West once they come of age to take power.
We should be eager position ourselves any way we can to have a fruitful relationship with the Iranians when/if that day comes. Continuing the rhetoric of the Bush years ("axis of evil") won't take us far down that road.
And I agree with Min's earlier observation that he is tired of the Israeli tail wagging the American dog.

Yep. Time will tell if this agreement will pan out, but it's an important step.

John McCain, too, has some massive butthurt over not being able to send more young Americans to die in foreign lands.
McCain, having served and suffered in an earlier meaningless war, seems bound and determined to force as many young Americans as possible to relive his misfortunes. Fuck him and the plane he crashed in. He's one of the few veterans that this veteran does not respect.
And to think I almost voted for him. Fuck, I'm a slow learner sometimes.

McCain IS the last republicunt I voted for. It was in the NY primary in 2000 and he was running against that tit-turd Bush.
On my way out of the polling place I filled out the form to switch to Democrat.

Because of my own life story, I pay very close attention to Iranian affairs, and maintain friendships with expatriate Persians here, and judging your comments against their views, I think you've got a good handle on it. Young Iranians are of course somewhat suspicious of us, given our history of meddling there, but at the same time, there's a very active underground in Iran that embraces Western values in a broad array of issues. They may not be politically powerful enough to effect change -- but the 2009 unrest was not a random event. The younger folk there feel alienated from the political elite, and that too is another reason why this deal happened at all -- because the government had to mollify people suffering from the sanctions, in order to reduce the risk of internal unrest again. Full bellies are less prone to revolt.

US President Barack Obama said that with the deal, "every pathway to a nuclear weapon is cut off" for Iran.
His Iranian counterpart, Hassan Rouhani, said it opened a "new chapter" in Iran's relations with the world.
Negotiations between Iran and six world powers - the US, UK, France, China, Russia and Germany - began in 2006.
Expect the 16 republicunt mental midgets and that fuck, Netanyahoo, to collectively go ape shit.
Not to be negative but...what if someone got their hands on the nuclear waste or even you know decides to do something stupid

Now that's just a bit on the ignorant side, since Pakistan is already a full blown nuclear power and much more unstable than Iran has ever been.
