The Last Movie You Watched
RE: The Last Movie You Watched
I've reserved my copy at the library, but it's a very popular film, so there's like 20 people ahead of me. It could be a while.

The last thing I watched was Struggle: The Life and Lost Art of Szukalski.

Saw that. I've always liked Szukalski.  His art appeals to me, and he was an interesting cat.  About bloody time someone made a film about him.

BlacKKKlansman

I'm not a tremendous fan of Spike Lee - I tend to find his films rather heavy-handed.  But this one was enjoyable, largely because of the (mostly) true premise of a black police office orchestrating the infiltration of the Klan in the 1970s.

Rather disturbing monologue by the great Harry Belafonte towards the end of the film.

7/10

I watched (or at least tried to) that 90s fantasy movie "Father Of The Bride" (1991). I mean forget about David Lynch, this is the truly disturbing movie because it's obviously made for lobotomized people and that there are so many lobotomized people that Hollywood sees it profitable to make movies for them is disturbing.

So I feel violated. Watching "I Spit On Your Grave" is a picnic compared to how excruciatingly painful this movie is to watch

Quite honestly, the 1950 version wasn't a lot better.  I suspect it may be the premise - if stars like Spencer Tracy, Elizabeth Taylor, Steve Martin and Diane Keaton can't save a film, it was probably a bad idea to begin with.
