The Last Movie You Watched
RE: The Last Movie You Watched
And at this point it is clear Wick is likely going after The Table in chapter four. Kind of a silly trope to follow, as though what Bourne did was not enough.

What a world-traversing future looks like when a Nazi-regime runs amok. Seems like an AI generated film to me.

I watched this last night, mildly entertaining and 100% not believable in any way.

Leave the World Behind

Unbelievable dialog and characters.  The first half of the movie looks like it might become an interesting thriller, and then it fizzles out.

Our knowledge of the situation comes from direct exposition from the characters and not from discovering anything ourselves.  Strange stylistic choices of colors and rotating camera zooms may increase some sense of weirdness, but they have no reason at all.

One character says something like "media can be both escapism and social commentary".  Well, look at me, viewer, this movie is both escapism and social commentary!  Isn't this a smart movie!

Well, no.  It is just bad, by my standards.

My wife and I took a quick trip to Brunswick, Maine for the last week of the year. It poured rain, but at least the indie cinema in town was showing Poor Things by Greek weirdo director Yorgos Lanthimos. We had both read Alasdair Gray's book and enjoyed the gruesome steampunky adaptation a lot. Personally I've never been a fan of Emma Stone but she did a fine job in the lead role.
