Hello, i am a real Christian

Who knows what sort of ancient organisations there would be today if they had just minded their own business and stayed put in Rome.

That's what I was getting at on an earlier post on this thread that you didn't give me kudos for.

"It's not as if Christianity became so popular as a pacifist in the first place: how is the Catholic's history with violent methods of spreading their 'word' supposed to make sense in a religion that now proposes that you turn the other cheek when in conflict?"

Beliefs in Osiris, Buddhism and Judaism are not organizations. They are religions/philosophies. There is a difference: there has been a Pope for 2000 years without interruptions. The "headquarters" (Vatican) have stayed the same.
Organizations =/= Religions

However Darwinian i admit that that school you talked about has existed for longer than the Church. That's ONE Tongue

But the Church has existed and flourished for 2000 years, and doesnt seem to be losing too many adepts. To me this shows that there is some kind of divinity to the Church.

To "The Flying Sceptic" : Islam is way younger than Christianity.

Vote no to name change but TC may just be " having a laugh " at our expense, possibly.

I considered that but every time I say that "no one could be that stupid" some theist comes along and proves me wrong.

So I'll withhold judgment... even though my True Christian friend thinks that TC is just a troll trying to start a flame war.

You've just convinced me that you don't know wtf you're talking about.

Not an odd occurence among xtians, mind you...but still.

TC, on my profile details I reveal that I am male and reside in the UK.
Would you care to reveal the same about yourself?
Just being nosey.
HuhA man is born to a virgin mother, lives, dies, comes alive again and then disappears into the clouds to become his Dad. How likely is that?

you've got to be kidding me with 'Judaism' not being an organization. Judaism must be a group of people that work together even if it doesn't have a hierarchy the way that Catholics do that historically parallels a celibate isolated democracy.

We'll have to ask TC (can't help but think of Top Cat when I see that) how he is defining the word Organisation.

heh, i guess people think im a troll now ?

I am a male, and i also reside in the UK, in East Anglia to be more precise. This is the Internet so you can understand, i hope, that i cannot reveal all my personal information just to satiate curiosity Smile

Also about the Church, i guess i apprehend the word "organization" : "the persons (or committees or departments etc.) who make up a body for the purpose of administering something". The Church is the only major religion that has this "administering" part, and the only religion in the whole world who has kept a constant administration for two millenia.

The fact that the church itself is over 2000 years old is not evidence that the mythology it endorses is true, only that it is good at convincing people that it is. This is a stupid argument, in my honest opinion.
