AF Biggest Loser/Fitness Challenge-May 3 to Whenever We're Not Fat Anymore
RE: AF Biggest Loser/Fitness Challenge-May 3 to Whenever We're Not Fat Anymore
I'm doing pretty good, up less than 3 pounds from my lowest, a bounce I expected - it was 5 lbs at one point.

In any case, I like the direction I'm headed. I crossed the line from morbidly obese to merely obese about two weeks ago.

My spouse and I are planning on signing up at the local community center and there's a place that does Zumba, nothing but Zumba, and it looks fun and exhausting, so I might join her doing that.

The community center offers swimming lessons which I am going to sign up for after talking to the instructor about which class I should be in. I'm at the "almost capable of keeping oneself from drowning" stage and I want to be able to swim laps. I was a pretty poor swimmer when I did my first scuba cert way back when but there's no way I could pass that today.

Not entirely unrelated nor completely tangental but completely subjective: I'm feeling pretty good about myself. I care about my appearance. I can stand to see myself in a mirror without self-loathing. I can dress down without looking like a slob, merely by giving fucks that are hard-won. I have more self-confidence. I'm on the right trajectory in the mental health department - it's a work in progress - but I know my wife would testify that I am not who I was when we first met. In a good way.

My wife, the lovely Kitty Galore, has lost ...... 55 pounds. She too is feeling pretty good about herself.

Though I think that both of us would agree that massive weight loss is a lot like growing pains, but in reverse. Shrinking pains.

Just weighed myself again. Down another 1.5 pounds to 264.5.

Which sucks for me.

I may have to buy one and hide it under my bed like people used to hide their porn stash.

Or keep one at work/trusted friend’s house?

I had two jobs ago and forgot about the bugger when I left.

Two people remarked today, on seperate unrelated events, that I seem to have lost a good deal of weight.
I feel it too. Need to make another hole in my belt.

My gf and one of the two who remarked it think I shouldn't lose any more, that I'm about as sharp as I ought to be.
But I feel I should be a bit thinner still. Still have the gut.

Well, I think we can call off the contest portion of this event.  We have co-winners Chth & Kitty.

I'm maintaining still.  Last time I got on the scale I was at 189, down a few from the time before.  The lowest I got, more than a year ago, was 182.  My failure to balloon back up north of 200 is largely the result of keeping up my exercise routine:

Tuesdays & Thursdays: Pilates, weights and the stationary bike for 300 calories.

2-3 other days I just do the weights and 500 calories on the stationary bike on the days Lia does pool class.

In between, the puppies like to take me out for a few miles walk at the beach or in the hills.

If I ever decide to try to drop some more weight it won't be hard.  I'd just have to give up my many but budgeted treats.  I wouldn't ever have to actually get hungry like before.  That's the benefit of exercise.  But you have to be careful not to just blast away and have a heart attack or get an injury.  We don't get in a hole over night and we can't get out of it all at once.  You obviously already know that but for anyone thinking of trying this at home...

is this what this thread is about? Lol
"Every luxury has a deep price. Every indulgence, a cosmic cost. Each fiber of pleasure you experience causes equivalent pain somewhere else. This is the first law of emodynamics [sic]. Joy can be neither created nor destroyed. The balance of happiness is constant.

Fact: Every time you eat a bite of cake, someone gets horsewhipped.

Facter: Every time two people kiss, an orphanage collapses.

Factest: Every time a baby is born, an innocent animal is severely mocked for its physical appearance. Don't be a pleasure hog. Your every smile is a dagger. Happiness is murder.

Vote "yes" on Proposition 1321. Think of some kids. Some kids."

I've been living off takeout and donuts. It's very bad, but I haven't been able to cook in our kitchen. So many boxes.
