I'm not going to wish ill but I have to say that someone with his health issues better be thankful to be lucky enough to get the best of the best as far as treatments are concerned.

In case anyone doesn't know, Abbott is a paraplegic and has been in a wheelchair since the mid 80s.  That could complicate things.

I’ll hold off on the ill-wishing until Abbott explains whether or not getting COVID is going to change his attitude towards managing the pandemic.

I was just talking with my sister about that. He is getting the best treatment available and will probably be fine and then he will use that to back his reasoning behind the no mask mandates.

As I watch the numbers of students and teachers with COVID in the area rise around here. Now that it's moved down to infecting children you would think that some of these idiots would rethink their stance...it obviously wasn't about killing off the old and the sick.

My wife got a tour of her workplace a few weeks ago. She was not impressed with the air filtration setup, as most of the equipment was against a wall or even in a corner. I can understand that the people want to keep the equipment out of walkways and so forth, for foot traffic safety. As the people return to the building, they are supposed to have been vaccinated, but it's on the honor system, ffs. Well, someone came down with Covid, and the company is re-evaluating the situation. My wife will retire early before returning to that office.

Funny thing: I can remember the time Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman tried to accuse Anthony Fauci of rape, and the accuser actually made a phone call explaining that she had second thoughts about accusing Dr. Fauci of rape, for the crime of shutting down the economy in an attempt at slowing the spread of COVID, and when she accused them of thinking the virus was fake, Burkman said:

Mother Nature has to clean the barn every so often. How real is it? Who knows? So what if 1 percent of the population goes? So what if you lose 400,000 people? Two hundred thousand were elderly, the other 200,000 are the bottom of society. You got to clean out the barn. If it's real, it's a positive thing, for God's sake.

I’ve seen enough conservative leaders downplay the virus, catch it, and still decide that it’s changed nothing about their hands-off approach to think this is what they’re thinking when they’re justifying their horseshit. Trump, Bolsonaro, Hell, Herman Cain even tweeted against restrictions after he died. Somehow, of all the right-wing leaders who got it, this idiot was the only one who figured it out:

I feel fortunate to be able to work from home. I just have to go to the office once a week to pick up and drop off paperwork. Since I do the books for a maid company they are pretty up-to-date on disinfecting things and have what looks like the packs from Ghostbusters that are used to spray other commercial settings as well as used in our site as well.

I have a supply of hand sanitizer and some little disinfectant pellets that I can use to make a similar solution to use at home. There's no way I would agree to work in an office with this new Delta variant and now the Lambda variant.

And the honor system...pffft...no way I would trust that.

My manager at work told me today that she has a good friend who is a nurse practioner at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. That's the hospital they take you to when you are in bad shape...that's where the gunshot victims go, where major pileup accidents victims go...if you get taken to Parkland, it's not good news...anyway...they are nearly out of blood. Can't be getting picky if you are lucky enough to get "tainted" blood you better take it...chances are you won't get any at all.
