As a nearly life-long Michigander, this doesn't surprise me in the least, but what does surprise me a bit is that this happened in the southern part of the state, which is generally the more tolerant part. Hell, Dearborn, Michigan, which isn't that far away from this, has the largest Muslim population in the U.S.
