The Kurdish Peace Plan: The Iraqi, Syrian, and Turkish factions will all stop fighting ... each other.

Of course, the Kurds have been heavily involved in the fighting in Syria.  Once ISIS is eliminated in Iraq the Sunni and Shi'a there will go back to merrily slaughtering each other and the fighting in Syria will go on for a couple of more years.  But will the Kurds continue fighting there or move to support the new Kurdish homeland?  And the Turks?  Whatever shall they do?

And the WLB?  Whatever shall that moron do?

He's funneled so much money away from beneficial humanistic programs to fund the military he might as well start a war somewhere.

Ugh, I don't want there to be more war in the middle east....

Selfishly, I just don't want to have to send more of our people over there.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

If they're smart, they'll be husbanding their battle-hardened forces, fighting just enough to tip the balances as it benefits them but otherwise conserving manpower and resources in anticipation of the ...

Go for a golf weekend, judging by his habits thus far.

We habitually violate this rule of war, C/L.

This is one of the failings of American military leadership: the habit of snapping a salute to the President with a brisk "Yes, sir" without sitting him down and explaining this matter -- and others that KvC brings up as well. The guy had a lot of insight into the military's input upon statecraft, but our general officers seem locked into focusing on the operational level at the expense of the strategic -- or at least too afraid to talk back to whomever is in the Oval Office contemplating which tail should wag the dog this year.

The 'next' war in the Middle East implies there would be an interval of non-hostilities between hostilities.

I'm not sure what that would look like . . .
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Everyone just changes sides.  It's like in high school where the coach said " this game, you guys be shirts and you guys be skins."

Of course that worked better with the girls.

This one always reminds me of Bush the Dumber.
