Why it is not too late to turn to the Flying Spaghetti Monster
#63
RE: Why it is not too late to turn to the Flying Spaghetti Monster
Actually, I eat far more pasta than pizza.  I eat pasta with tomato sauce, tossed with olive oil and herbs and veggies, in pesto sauce, in mushroom stroganoff, in casseroles and similar things made on stovetops, and in Asian dishes.  I eat a wide range of pastas, made from rice or buckwheat (in some Asian dishes), durum wheat semolina pasta (the most common I eat), whole wheat, and spinach, and possibly some other type of which I am presently forgetting.  It is a rare week when I have not had pasta, and often I have had it two or three or more times in a week.  Pizza, on the other hand, I am more likely to have once or twice a month.  I do not personally know anyone who eats pasta more often than I do.  At least, not as far as I know.

Usually, I drink red wine with my pasta, but not with casseroles and similar types of things, and with mushroom stroganoff; for those, it is white wine.  Typically, with the Asian noodles, I drink tea, though occasionally, white wine.

Red wine goes well with pizza, too.  But that is far more rare for me to have.  When I eat pizza out somewhere, I will likely either have iced tea or beer, depending on where it is and my mood and whether I am driving.

All of this is making me hungry, and my wife and I are discussing which sort of pasta meal to have this evening.  It is going to be something with wine of some sort, but which type is yet to be determined.

Anyway, I love pasta, and you will find few, if any, who love it more than I do.  The fact that it goes well with wine is another reason to love pasta.
