Well, flowers can be beautiful. There's beauty in mountain scenery or watching a majestic waterfall. There's also beauty in a meadow feshly covered with snow. But all of nature is most certainly NOT beautiful. Ever seen a pack of lions bring down a zebra and then rip it to shreds while it's still alive? Ever seen vultures tear into a carcass? Ever seen two animals fight to the death? Was hurricane Katrina "beautiful"? How about earthquakes? Tsunamis? Floods?
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.
