Why are Christians afraid of Gay People?

Just the Subject. Why so much fear?

Less than 10% of the U.S. Population identifies as homosexual AND all the other letters and the plus sign combined. They aren't over throwing anything. In fact they own less guns and are far more likely to be the ones shot by said guns. Now I'm all for shooting for sport but this isn't even a contest. They aren't a threat to anybody save your erotic sexy mind you pervert you.

It's because they are terrified of anything involving sex, also why they are so bothered about abortions.

The reason Christians are afraid of gays is because gay people are ignoring one of taboos of Christianity - the taboo of homosexuality - and they live normal lives without it. Which is concerning to Christians because if you can ignore one taboo and live a normal happy life, then which other taboos can you break as well until the dam breaks? Not going to church every Sunday? Using lord's name in vain? Not believing that Mary is a virgin? Masturbating? Not believing in the trinity? Not giving 10% of your paycheck to the church? Not believing in god?

Plus, Christianity needs some fake problem to protect/ cure it's followers from, and when they lose one of the "problems", they lose some of the reasons for their own existence.

So there is a real struggle today in Christianity to find that fake problem which they will sell people cure for. Some churches have thus embraced the battle against so-called wokeism which is a mixture of various fake problems they fought against in the past but under the new name that is unspecified enough for people to accuse Christians of being homophobic, antisemitic, racist, and similar.


The other reason is that Christianity needs a group of people to claim that the nonexistent devil is working through them to pervert Christians. And now that they lost Jews to marginalize, it's hard to find a substitute. Sure, they used gays, but then gays organized and are fighting back. Still, they are not that strong, so they get punched by church leaders here and there (as do Jews in some churches, but not in that quantity).


That said, some churches have embraced gay people, so it is not uncommon to see a gay flag in front of a Catholic church in Germany, but that is pretty much an anomaly if you take the Catholic Church and Christianity as a whole.

I suspect part of the problem is the ick factor, the same as with transexuals and such. It's a visceral revulsion that makes them want to not have to deal with those people. Which raises the question of how that reaction became conditioned in the first place. Maybe it has to do with sex period, and they're able to sublimate any squeamishness about their own sexual practices.

I agree that male homosexuality is more reviled than female homosexuality. The explanation for ANE societies is that a male participating in a homosexual act as a catcher was seen as abdicating the male's natural role and perverting his manhood. I think in the same sense, male homosexuality, especially among younger males, is seen as an example of feminization, and young males especially are threatened by female power and have insecurity about their own manhood which they externalize by trying to deny the existence of the feminine male.

I'm not sure why you've mentioned "white" twice. Here in America, homophobia is more prevalent amongst blacks, I think. Latinos as well, but I'm not as sure. But both minorities, being more religious than whites in general, seem to have absorbed the homophobia of the various Christian sects they adhere to.

I don't think there's a racial element to homophobia. I think some men of all races look at male homosexuality as a threat because there's a fear of emasculation. Homophobic males, I believe, are imbued with a male image -- whether by culture, religion, or what-have-you -- that doesn't tolerate submission or even its appearance. I don't think "white" is a big factor there. Homophobia is prevalent in Africa and Asia as well.

I could well be wrong about my reasoning, but I'm pretty sure I'm right that homophobia is not about white males specifically. There's not many white males in Saudi Arabia; there's also not many out gays in that patriarchal society.

I'm sure there are several reasons that the religious are scared of the gays but there is always the concept of being fruitful and multiply, which can't naturally be done amongst The Gays.

Sex for procreation is the fallback position.
