I think that our culture has a lot to do with how either gender responds to sex and love.
Perhaps the younger me was just very weird but I would have been perfectly happy with a fuck buddy. You would think that would have been easy to find. No. It wasn't. Either the relationship ended up weird and the man suddenly loved me or the guy talked badly about me afterwards. It didn't matter how close the friendship before hand, for some weird reason, I couldn't get the friends with benefits thing to work. I think that part of the problem was that in the 80's men were taught that a 'slutty' woman wasn't worth respect so if you were a woman who was open about wanting sex without any emotion, that must mean that you had something wrong with you.
