Quote:How about Samuel 15 then? Seems pretty unambiguous. God gets pissed off because Saul didn't kill everyone down to the last sheep. I mean, God does love to punish the animals along with the humans he is targeting as part of his latest genocidal pogrom. Consider the flood... kills off a majority of living creatures just to punish humanity. Subtlety is not one of Yahweh's traits that is for sure.
Was that God? The Bible also says in 1 Samuel that God made Hannah infertile, I think we need to becareful, the Bible was written within a completely different time. We need to be careful to understand the context.
Quote:Well, flowers can be beautiful. There's beauty in mountain scenery or watching a majestic waterfall. There's also beauty in a meadow feshly covered with snow. But all of nature is most certainly NOT beautiful. Ever seen a pack of lions bring down a zebra and then rip it to shreds while it's still alive? Ever seen vultures tear into a carcass? Ever seen two animals fight to the death? Was hurricane Katrina "beautiful"? How about earthquakes? Tsunamis? Floods?
How is it not beautiful to see a lion catch a zebra and tear it apart? Its beautiful and amazing!
Where I live there is an octopi that will kill you in an hour (the most deadliest octopus) its called the blue ringed octopus. Its a beautiful creature, just because it could kill me or anyone else doesnt mean it isnt beautiful.
Its ok to have doubt, just dont let that doubt become the answers.
You dont hate God, you hate the church game.

Your mind works very simply: you are either trying to find out what are God's laws in order to follow them; or you are trying to outsmart Him. -Martin H. Fischer
