What is your Opinion on Having Required Classes in Logic in Schools?

RE: What is your Opinion on Having Required Classes in Logic in Schools?
I think it would be interesting to have a type of basic philosophy/seminar class. Less of a class where you study to pass a test but one in which students discuss any and all ideas and learn to think critically. It could even have some kind of formal debate every other week. I think it would get students interested in learning and discussing ideas. Also, it would teach kids to start questioning each other. Instead of accepting a dogma, they would actually have to discuss, do research, and think for themselves.
Take the risk of thinking for yourself, much more happiness, truth, beauty, and wisdom will come to you that way - Christopher Hitchens
