What is the purpose of the karma law?
And before we try to understand the purpose of the karma law we should understand how the whole system works according to yoga philosophy.
The universe is made of consciousness (God consciousness)
The universe made of space, air, light, water and matter is none but consciousness that get transformed in
these elements.
As the pure consciousness get transformed it goes so to speak into a dormant or latent stage.
The matter which has reached the last transformation has reached the end of the road.
It can't go any further but as the old saying goes .......what goes down has got to come back up and
coming back up only mean evolution.
Creation and evolution go hand in hand.
So creation in none but the God thought waves that turn into the five elements that compose the universe
and evolution is the dormant and latent God consciousness that goes back into God mind.
Instinct is what drive plants and animals towards higher degree of consciousness and to become humans.
As they become humans the instinct give way to free will and here the path to supreme consciousness become
harder because man become responsible for their actions.
Here the karma law become an absolute necessity in order to make us understand what is good and
what is bad and to help us to go ahead in our journey towards the ocean of cosmic consciousness.
So evil as some religion mean really has no place in yoga philosophy.
It is all about sorting out our mistakes and the best way for sorting out our mistakes is to so to speak pay the bill
for our mistakes.
There is no evil, there is no hell, there is no God that hate anybody but there is a God that behave like a real father
that teach us how to get there.
There where we all belong.
Rik, I cannot comprehend how you arrive at your logic. if there is no evil, no hell, God is all things, etc, the word "mistakes" that we "pay for" makes no sense. You talk about "good" and "bad" but then say there is no "evil". Can you give examples of what you feel is "bad" or "mistakes"?
Humans acquire free will and with free will you may do mistakes.
We all do.
Good is what help you to progress and bad is what make you go down.
Up where and down where?
I am talking about consciousness so the good is to acquire more consciousness and
bad is what make you loose more consciousness.
According to yoga there is a goal of life and this goal is to merge into the ocean of cosmic
consciousness.
This means to realize that you are God.
According to your Christian believes even if you go to paradise you will never be God.
You will be in this beautiful place but you will be Mr Ikping and God will be God.
Now let us see why there can not be a permanent hell.
According to yoga God can not do two things.
One is to create an other God and the other is to hate anyone.
Why he can not hate anyone?
God is perfect so if he would create something or someone that is not perfect it would means that
God did some mistakes.
So how a perfect entity can do something that is not perfect?
Impossible.
That is why there can not be evil to be hated by Him.
What really happen is that all mistakes can be sorted out that is why there is karma.
