This is a old argument. The idea of human flight was arround in ancient mythology, and even today, I get pissed at Star Trek fans who treat the show like a holy book and Gene like a prophet.
If all it took was simply uttering an idea, we'd all be gods. Just because humans come up with ideas does not mean everything they come up with will work. Microwave technology was depicted in si fi even prior to that show. The real scientists, just like today, with all technology are always looking to make it more efficient with less or cheaper material.
Newton got physics right but also for a time thought he could make alchemy work. Ideas do not get to reality without testing and falsification.
