I don't know how many people play video games on here, but I'll assume a reasonable amount do. I also don't know if anyone has played or seen a game called Minecraft.
It's an indie game (don't judge) by a guy called Notch, it's a survival/epic/building/awesome game. However currently in Alpha, so there's a few bugs and features still to be implemented. The aim is to build a little shelter and survive Zombies, Skeletons and Creepers. The graphics may seem 'dated' but once you play the game they become second nature. As you progress through the game you find materials, like iron or diamonds to make tools. And your little shelter becomes bad ass and you reach a level of awesome. Minecraft has some cool features like the ability to use logic gates to run machinery or making traps for animals or monsters which want to mess with you.
You can find all sorts of crazy creations or complex circuits on youtube. Here is probably one of the best showcase videos:
The Beauty of Minecraft
This shows what the world generation engine can do (aside from creating maps 8x larger than Earth) as well as some of the houses and other creations you can make. I've created a few neat little things, nothing as impressive as some of the stuff in the video mine you (get it? I made a funny). If you want to have a look, here's a pretty little train system I made
Minecarts3.avi.
Anyway if you're interested the game is €10, which is 50% while it's in Alpha testing and you can buy it here. If you would rather have a test you can play what's called classic, which is basically a freebuild game mode you can also go to the site and have a look as well, although it's not nearly as good.
