I wouldn't call it blatantly obvious, especially when I've read plenty of posts that appear to be sarcastic but are not. I was pretty sure it was, but I could see how someone would be hesitant of jumping to that conclusion when it wasn't made explicit. If I only had a dollar for every time I misinterpreted the tone of someone's post.
Sarcasm is also especially hard to detect when people are talking about race, because people say the dumbest shit in all seriuosness when they approach that subject. Just look at the OP. Even when you know it's sarcasm, it's still the type of thing you would hear from an 11 year-old.
