well,supposing you're trying to teach your kid that 1+1=2 and the smart kittle bugger comes back at you and says, no 1+1=11, and 2+2 is 22 and so on.
at some point you have to go back to math which is a very dogmatic and repressive system. That makes you eeeevil. And closed minded too!

I see you're confusing "being open-minded," with "being unwilling to correct basic factual inaccuracies." They aren't the same thing at all. If someone tells me that my name is Jake, it's not being close-minded to correct them. Maybe you should actually try to understand the objection one might have against dogma before you try to prove it wrong, next time?

I mean, I can demonstrate arrythmetics with a lair of apples, it he demonstrates it on paper. So how do you figure out who's right? You look at the outcome of the ways of thinking. And the outcome for ignoring the existence of the soul as the immaterial part of human beings is to undermine human dignity, freedom, responsibility and rights in exchange for a system where truth is determined by who is stronger, or has more voice in the media.

So, do you ever intend to demonstrate this? Or are you going for more of a "because I said so, nyeh!" sort of argument?
