I know other drastic mutilations have been discussed but, when you get right down to it there's no difference other than severity. At any rate the psychiatrist should be held accountable in the minds of very one who believes in justice. If the psychiatrist hadn't of poured the drain cleaner in her eyes, she may have her sight today, seems to me she may not have had the nerve to do it herself, so I believe that it wasn't unethical it was criminal. If someone dashed drain cleaner into a stranger's eyes they would be prosecuted without question. I see no difference in the two, she's mentally disabled and not able to say no because of her disability, the stranger wouldn't give permission to have his eyes blinded.

My freaking Goddess, you are so fucking dumb.
How do you equate an individual assisting someone else toward harm as opposed to an individual doing harm to himself?
Otherwise, in no way should it be considered okay for one individual to do harm to another.
If I want to cut myself, however, that is another matter.
Please, learn how to reason.
You're misreading what he said.
This woman did not self mutilate. Her psychiatrist poured the drain cleaner into her eyes.
That is a horrible unethical thing for a psychiatrist to do. It is completely unacceptable.
The woman is mentally ill, her doctor should have been treating her and instead he/she was encouraging her delusions and went as far as to harm his/her patient. S/he should be arrested or at the very least lose his/her license.
