Really, when Pope says he's not gay does that mean he masturbates on nude pictures of women because you have to get hard on somebody to know which way you go?
Seriously? Do you know any guy who does NOT have sexual thoughts? Most folks know (very clearly!) by the age of 12 or 13 what turns them on. A gay male is not turned on by pictures of females. In fact, I've known a few gay guys who find playboy centerfolds nausea-inducing.
And if a gay guy has been raised very devout Catholic, then what better choice than the priesthood? He has seen priests being almost worshiped and obeyed his whole life. He has seen the fancy robes and the pomp and circumstance. The job would require him to keep company with men and avoid women. He might even believe that if he prays hard enough, gawd will cure him of all of those impure thoughts he has about his fellow seminarians.
