According to the OP the boy intentionally shot the girl.
It's so odd to me that a child would want to kill another child. I wanted to beat someone up from time to time and actually did so but shooting them was not a thought of mine. I even owned guns as a kid. I had my Ruger 10-22 in my room with me.
