Oh I'm sorry Cato - is there an agreed UN convention pertaining to the treatment of Indigenous people? No? How many countries don't recognise Indigenous people TODAY? How many recognise them and treat them like second-class citizens (eg Japan)?
Do you know what we did with people who committed murder? We hanged them. And from 1838 that included killing natives.
I never said that killings were "irrelevant" I said they were a product largely of the conventional wisdom of the age (assimilation) and the fear of people who are different to you. Natives killed colonial settlers as well you know.
