The reason poor ol' Jen's copping it is because she's telling us stuff, and no-one is saying that she isn't genuine, it's just that the claims she makes have no basis in reality.
There is no such thing as a supernatural event, right? Everything that happens in our universe MUST be natural. There's also no such things as Disney style magic. right?
But ALL of the claims can be explained quite easily. It's the elephant in the room really. "It's all in the mind". Thinking you are having a personal relationship with a deity or a ghost or even a snowflake is completely indistinguishable from having random ideas and thoughts in one's head.
To say that it cannot be, must mean that the person having these experiences is profoundly knowledgeable of the most intimate workings of the most complex and creative organ in existence. The human mind. Let's start there shall we...
but just because another person does not understand or accept something as true doesnt mean that it is not real . for example say that you moved to another location and could not find your pet to take with you and a month later your pet shows up on your new doorstep (some have claimed such a thing has happened to them) . although you know its true and think its amazing , some people would not believe this story and be convinced it was all made up . disbelief by some people does not mean it did not happen or is not real it only means others are not convinced of it . why should i be persuaded to not believe just because you are not convinced and dont think its real ?
everyone has an opinion should i just disregard my own direct experiences and leech onto someone elses theory or disbelief about it ?
Ah, now THERE, great toaster guru, was a truly worthy question. Although perhaps I should not reply, because you have not shared the secret of gaining an answer to prayer which most of the world lacks . . . I must be unworthy. Your experience is personal and your own - - do you even have the POWER to disregard it? If your experience can lead us to the same numinous light, find a way to teach.
If you have no way, but want to be a beloved member of AF forums, then emulate the behavior of our favorite christian members: state your experience when asked about it, and if someone says they don't believe you, drop it and join in a game of mafia.
