The "God" claim is by its very definition beyond the realm of science.
Invisible and intangible? Leaves no breadcrumbs? Indistinguishable from His-nonexistence? This all makes him unfalsifiable and undetectable and beyond the scope of science. So no, no serious undertaking by science to "prove" (science doesn't deal in proof... it deals in testing and trying to falsify hypotheses) can succeed because it's not within the realms of science.
