Maybe you should explain yourself a bit better.
How can something be a rational act solely because you are asking for praise?
And while we're asking questions, how does prayer work? What physical mechanisms are being used?
There needs to be some form of telepathy because you don't have to pray aloud in order to pray. This means that there needs to be some way for the recipient of the prayer not only knowing how our brains are configured, but how our neurons are currently firing and be able to analyse that to figure out that a prayer is being performed and what it means based on our memories.
Then that information needs to be sent back in real time to be analysed, judged and enacted on. Then if it is, some other information needs to be sent back and enacted upon by some other physical mechanism. So for example if you pray to recover from a disease then all the infected cells are located and either killed off or purified.
Yet physicists have never seen even the merest hint of how this information could be transmitted or how the very fundamentals of matter could be manipulated at the microscopic level from a distance.
Considering that prayer is supposed to work so easily then why haven't any physicists discovered these mechanisms yet? If they had then the world would be a very different place. There would be no energy crisis for a start and the field of robotics would be so much more advanced. Space exploration would be amazingly easy.
