No, I don't have to show that because it's not at all what I said.
Since the world is divided - not even remotely equally - between atheists and theists, and since theists are already convinced of the existence of their pet god, they're not the demographic likely to be surprised if the character shows up. And since having one or more gods show up and be proven to be such would be overwhelming and indisputable, holding a position of atheism at that point would be silly. Are we in agreement?
My experience with humans is they demand proof and when presented with it, often don't accept it, if it's not what suits their desires.
