I usually take the time, when presented with that little carrot, to explain why I am both an agnostic and an atheist.
I am agnostic because I cannot say if one of the nebulous concepts of the Deist god might be in fact correct; I do not think it is possible for humans to know the answer to this question.
I am atheistic because I have heard the various stories told by mankind, and I find their definitions to be obvious fantasy, usually just the projection of human prejudices and fears onto a super-Alpha-male concept, a basic form of chimpanzee-thinking, so to speak.
It's really that simple, and while most theists object to their ideas being presented in that way, I've found few of them who take issue with my atheism after telling them that. Online, of course, the trolls can get sticky with those definitions, but in real life I've found people outwardly to be much more reasonable about it.

A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
