Yeah, not familiar with the hot coal business...but it wouldn't really be any more or less silly than the rest of halal, or kosher. It's more than -just- their dietary considerations....any given action is either halal or not. The way a person pisses, for example. For most of us, though, the only experience we'll ever have with halal is as a set of barbaric and unsanitary food production guidelines.
