I know the argument is so over-used these days, but why Islam in particular?
You just follow that religion because your parents do. Why not the many Gods of Hinduism or feathered serpent Kukulkan of the Maya? Why are these less likely to be true than your religion? Just because yours has 1 billion followers? So does Hinduism before you try that.
I don't claim to have the answer about whether there's a God or not. It's beyond our comprehension, we don't know either way. What I know for a fact is that, as Christopher Hitchens said, the particular God The Abrahamic Religions depicts did not just sit there for 100 000 years and wait until so recently to decide to show his face. These religions are all interpretations of how we got here, and I'm not here for their "objective morality" invented by ancient men who were on a power trip.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie
