Too bad believers cannot see how ridiculous they appear.
When you think about it, it's hard to believe that anyone buys into this.
2000 years ago, God was born on earth. He was immortal, and today we chant over a glass of wine and some crackers. Magically, they become his body and blood, and by cannibalizing him, we can steal some of his immortality. Give me a break!! Does this really sound any better than the other religions, the ones that Christians make fun of?
My favorite book of the Bible is Genesis.
'God created Adam and Eve. They had two sons, Cain and Able. One of the sons gets married ' . . . to whom???
If not for the inconsistencies (do unto others, turn the other cheek, an eye for an eye, etc) it would make a pretty fair comedy.
Exactly, and two Christian friends of mine had the nerve to laugh about Mohammad ascending to heaven on a winged horse-as if that's any less ridiculous then Jesus ascending to heaven on a cloud! It's not, IMO!
@Statler Waldorf-I have read the Holiness of God, and other books by R.C. Sproul. But I am not convinced that there is a God or that he would send Muslims to hell for just having grown up in the "wrong" religion. I mean, that is what you believe, is it not? That these people, if they don't change from being Muslims, are going to suffer eternal torture? Because that's pretty disturbing to me.
