It's why I always despise Muslim missionaries and Imams who used those cheap tricks to keep people believing.
If we left it to the Quran, with the technology we have today, the verse can be seriously considered if we took The Fission Theory.
The hour (judgement day) did become near, once the moon was split from earth.
The arabic word "انشق" do mean literally "split".
That's my theory.
But saying that mohammed did it, is plainly based on the Hadith.

About the Jews, that was just another example, because if we want to go through this loop, it'll be a never ending debate.

"Okay, do you believe he split the moon, based on the same source" ?
"NO !! I'm just an atheist !! I'm not a Sunni !"
"Okay, do you believe he treated Jews nice" ?
"I told you I'm an Atheist !!!"
"Okay, didn't you believe -like many sunnies- that he was a pedophile based on their own sources ? "........
About why you should care, I'm not a missionary, actually I have no power, control, responsibility upon you, I'm just discussing things. Ask yourself why any of us should care.
