The only thing that's different this time is that news can travel so much faster and more effectively around the world. So Americans who have never heard of this happening before will of course be making it seem more significant than it is. But as noted earlier, there have always been terrorist attacks in Europe. Until 911 the IRA got a lot of its funding from asking for donations in American bars so they could perform more shootings and bombings in the UK.
There was also the Basque separatists and Red Army Faction and Chechans in Russia etc.
Most Americans don't give one solitary shit about the Americans who funded white Christian terrorists attacking the UK.
According to the CAIN research project at the University of Ulster, the Provisional IRA killed 1824 people during the three decades of The Troubles, of which 621 were civilians. Murderous attacks included the Guildford pub bombing (5 dead, 54 injured), the Woolwich pub bombing (2 dead, 28 injured), and the Hyde Park and Regents Park bombings in 1982 in which the IRA attacked a parade, killing 11 soldiers and injuring 50 other people
Can you fucking imagine if this had happened to the US? Ireland would end up getting 'liberated'
